MAD emergent art center and Open Data Eindhoven presenting Play the Future Stadslab.
This seven day public event at De Witte Dame consists of interactive imagination, presentations and activities related to the dynamics of the city. Play the Future is a multiannual study of new concepts in art and science within the themes Health, Energy and Mobility. New culture technologies are being used, such as Open Data and the Internet of Things to social develop innovations for the urban environment.
Trending Topics Live!
The cultural heritage can be presented to a broad audience in novel ways. The installation responds to digital information that generates from current events in the region and social media message from people that visit the Dutch Technology Week and the citizens of Eindhoven. Local news and social media conversations are analyzed, to list the ‘trending topics’ that apply to its environment. These topics are then visualized by linking them to audiovisual archive content (in total 25,000 digital objects are available) that are then shown on the screen. This connects the ‘trending topics’ with our shared history.

Trending Topics Live! is an initiative developed by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, in collaboration with DROPSTUFF.nl, Heinze Havinga en FrankJan van Lunteren, Open Sahara and triptic.
Trending Topics Live! uses digital heritage objects from Sound and Vision, the Regional Archives Eindhoven and Europeana. Trending Topics Live! is a project of the future experience centre VOLT, initiatedby Sound and Vision, City Council of Eindhoven and Trudo Housing Corporation.
